From the bottom

Of the well

 I hear cries from above.

 

I see faces

Peering

Over the edge.

 

Voices call

 A rope descends.

Catch it if you can.

 

The shadows

Down here

Claim me.

 

Feet in water,

Something

Swims by.

 

If I crouch here

Quietly

They’ll go away.
