Burj
the building bled that night
on the eve of a new sunrise
as your voice in my head
brought me none of blue-laced
calm of tongue that speaks
legibly like the hand
writing you the howling moon
inside the ribbon flames
that had the entire building
dancing like a svelte candle
melting in the heat of an art
it knew nothing of but adorned
the calligraphy inch by inch
as the glass scaled upwards
till all of it was agate
with fire, the air lunged.

Burj
l’edificio sanguinava quella notte
alla vigilia di una nuova alba
la tua voce nella mia testa
non portava nessuna obnubilata
calma per la mia lingua a formulare
parole comprensibili
per scriverti della luna ululante
all’interno di fiamme in nastri
che avvolgevano l’intero edificio
danzando come una candela sottile
sciogliendosi poi nel calore di un’arte
che riusciva solo ad adornare il cielo
con una nuova calligrafia
centimetro per centimetro
mentre il riflesso si spostava verso l’alto
fino a quando tutto fu colore dell’agata
col fuoco, un turbinio nell’aria
